Henry is in essence to me the kind, gentle , empathetic brother I had always wished for. We had adventures riding our white Peugeot bikes in downtown Toronto, pitching a tent backwards on pristine LI and NC beaches, hanging out in Chicago for some great food, photographing sites together, and hitting some luxury at the Palm Court in NYC (with Amy, once, I might add.).We enjoyed Wheaton together with some of our favorite people— Dr Zondra Lynblade and Dr William Phemister… Zondra and Bill to us. Just saw Bill and and Maryanne, and they were shocked. They remember him as a very handsome guy - which he is. Better yet, my brother epitomizes, in my opinion, the promise in Matthew 5 from the sermon on the mount. “Blessed are meek” - not a wilted flower, but a strong tree that knows its life source, and shares that as a gift to provide shade for others. And even if it is cut down, it still gives for a warm and cozy fire win the fireplace. Henry would give his life for his family.Amy (you are such a special and loving person), Jeff and Leah, Ryan, Lori, and Aunt Martha, you and I are enriched by knowing Henry and his gentle yet strong spirit.Ryan and Jeff, when I asked H (as we called each other) how to pray for him, he said instead to pray for you two, that you will see how God was working in all this. Only you can answer this, but he blessed me as he stayed strong in his faith, and love for you, forever. I have no doubt based on Scripture, that Henry walked right into the Jesus’ open arms and rested there for a bit as he entered into Eternity, perfect rest, healed, healthy, the new Henry. He was a stronger spiritual person in college compared to me. And that may well be all through our lives. He would want us all to know that perfect rest we have in Him, as we keep on surrendering. I am learning it is indeed a hard, life long exercise for a greater reward.I am looking forward to being with you, on the new earth and new Heaven some day, H.. and your welcoming me with your open arms as well. We are bound to have some great adventures. Our Father is good.
