Herman Perkins Obituary
Herman Perkins was born March 13, 1941 in Tennessee to Horbert and Bessie (nee Pattie) Perkins. Herman departed this life on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He moved to Elyria, Ohio with his sister, Reverend Helen Allgood, whom he loved and continued to live with until her passing in 1990. He was a well known person in Elyria, the downtown area lawyers, judges and all of the business owners knew Uncle Herman, as everyone would call him, he served many for over 40 years. Herman was a horseshoe champion. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing cards and watching stories and sports. Herman had a smile that would light up a room and if you encountered him, you would never forget the moment you met him and he would not let you forget. Uncle Herman taught us good and bad, but, he loved us all. Uncle leaves a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces and nephews, lots of cousins and friends and his extended family, Jerry, Maggie and Joe Savoy, whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horbert and Bessie Perkins; brothers, John, Henry, Sterling, Richard, Namon, Damon, Howard, Harold, Ruben and Eddie Perkins; sisters, Daisy Mae Robinson, Ella Mae Allgood and Reverend Helen Allgood. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria.
