Howard S. Cheshier, 95, of Elyria, died December 29, 2013 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria.He was born April 18, 1918 in Amoret, Mossousi and had lived in Avon Lake and Sandusky before moving to Elyria in 1982.He was an eight year U. S. Navy veteran and served during World War II.He retired in 1980 as chief service engineer for Cleveland Metal Abrasive Company and was a member of First Baptist Church, Elyria.Howard is survived by his wife of 31 years, Eva J.; daughters Sandra (Edward) Heidler and Darlene (Craig) Conant; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren; stepdaughters Donna (Joe) Gurra, Marlene (Dale) Lewis, Margaret (T. Z) Sherrill and Marion (Mel) Carnahan. He was preceded in death by his first wife Coletta in 1980. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 11400 LaGrange Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
