Irene Krase Obituary
Irene A. Krase (nee Krasnobrucky), 91, of San Clemente, CA, died February 22, 2020 in Avon, OH. She was born March 24, 1928 in Lorain, OH and was a 1946 graduate of Lorain High School. Irene was employed on the line at General Industries in Elyria, OH until the company relocated to Arizona. Irene and her friend, Dorothy Zarvas, opened a newspaper, candy and soda store, the Pony Keg in Lorain, OH. After selling the store in 1966, she moved to San Clemente, CA where she worked in the PX at Camp Pendleton. Irene enjoyed container gardening including fig and orange trees, her favorite being the rose. She learned how to start new rose plants from her mother, Julia. Other interests included reading, crossword puzzles and bingo. She volunteered at the Senior Center serving coffee and her baked cookies. Irene was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Where she helped pick up flowers, decorate the Church for holidays and was a money counter for the church collection plates. In March 2019 Irene moved back to Ohio to be close to her family. She is survived by niece, Linda K. (Dennis) Weigl of Lorain, OH.; nephew, John F. (Chris) Krasnobrucky; niece, Michelle (Bruce) Becher; niece, Susan (John) Salter; nephew, James (Jane) Krase; great niece, Natalie (Mat) Wissel; great nephew, Chad (Sarah) Weigl; great niece, Robyn Becher; great nephew, Michael P. Becher; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Krasnobrucky; brother, John J. Krasnobrucky; sister, Mary Krasnobrucky; brother, Michael Krase and a sister, Julia Bresak. Private burial will be in Ascension Cemetery, Lake Forest, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 105 N La Esperanza, San Clemente, CA 92672.
