Irma Kauffman Obituary
Irma May Kauffman (nee Thompson), 85, a long-time Elyria resident, died November 7, 2021 at Riverview Pointe Care Center in Olmsted Falls. She was born April 19, 1936 in Harrisburg, PA and was a l954 graduate of Oberlin High School. Irma enjoyed crotcheting, counted cross-stitch, playing games on her Amazon Fire tablet and sitting on the breezeway outside enjoying nature. Irma is survived by her children, Joanne (Thomas, Sr.) Myers, Diana (Charles) Heath, Wayne (Cathy) Kauffman, Karen Kauffman, Ken (Kim) Kauffman and Emma (Duane) Denn; grandchildren, Melissa Putman, TSgt Thomas Myers, Jr., Wayne Kauffman, Jr., Katie Kadane, Ronald Kauffman, Amber Kauffman, Chandler Kauffman and Logan Denn; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Godles and Judy Tomski; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ronald H. in 1989; parents, Ernest and Emma (nee Kinney) Thompson; and a brother, Ernest Thompson, Jr. Friends will be received, Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Burl Jernigan of First Baptist Church of Girard officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Masks are required.
