Jacob Buckey Obituary
Jacob Daniel Buckey, 32, of Elyria, died Saturday March 27, 2021 at University Hospitals, Cleveland surrounded by his family after a 4-year battle with cancer. He was born January 2, 1989 in Cambridge, Ohio. He moved to Elyria while in junior high school and was a 2008 graduate of Elyria High School. For 17 years, he has been employed at Fligner’s Market in Lorain. Jacob enjoyed spending time with his family including the activities with his daughters and was considered the clown of his family. Other interests included fishing, playing Pokeman, playing basketball and watching all sports. Jacob is survived by his wife Briana C. (nee Corley); daughters, Jayla and Juliana; mother, Christine Buckey; siblings, Jennifer (Jeremy) Campbell, Josh (Jessica) Buckey and Jessica (Jon) Jones; grandparents, Darwin and Alfretta Ellsworth, Larry Buckey and Barbara (Don) Hill; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Buckey. Friends will be received Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of 12:00 pm noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend James W. Deulley, Pastor of Elyria Foursquare Church will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Covid-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required.
