Jacqualine DeAnn McLaughlinJacqualine DeAnn McLaughlin (nee Strauss), 50, passed away March 4, 2019 at Avon Hospital, Avon, Ohio after losing her 2-year battle with cancer.She was born October 4, 1968 in Elyria and was a graduate of Elyria High School.She was a former Elyria Apple Festival Queen and had been employed as a nurse.Jacqualine is survived by her son, Nathaniel McLaughlin; 2 grandchildren; mother, Diana Burkhard (nee Newton) of Beachpark Towers, Avon Lake; step father, Kenneth Burkhard; brother, Joshua Burkhard and his wife, Rica Joy, stationed in Korea; grandmother, Viola Newton; aunts and uncles, Jack (Connie) Strauss, William (Nina), Phyllis, Tim (Sharon) and Gayle Gebhardt, Dennis Newton, Denise Brisline and Devis Leapold, and family friend, Tom Terrell.She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Strauss; grandfather, Carl Newton; grandparents, William and Jean Gebhardt and an aunt, Eileen Gebhardt. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
