James A. StokleyJames A. Stokley, 89, of Carlisle Township, died, November 8, 2017. He was born July 20, 1928 in Winona, WV and since 1953 has been a resident of Carlisle Township. During The Korean War Jim served from 1948-1952 in The US Army. Before retiring he was employed for thirty years as an electrician at Ford Motor Company, Lorain. He was a member of Wellington American Legion # 008 and enjoyed gardening and caring for his yard.Jim is survived by a son, James Terry (Bonnie) Stokley of Carlisle Township; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Jamie Stokley and sisters, Mary Peacock of Elkins, WV and Shirley Branch of Birmingham, AL.He was preceded in death by his wife off forty nine years, Edna M. in 2004; parents, Granville and Ida Stokley and brothers, Basil and Roy Stokley.Friends will be received Sunday November 12, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria. A service will be Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Reverend Dr. Janet A. Long pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery where Elyria VFW #1079 will present military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
