James Bell Obituary
James E. Bell, 62, of Elyria, died unexpectedly January 16, 2023. He was born January 3, 1961 in Beckley, WV and was raised in Ghent, WV where he was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Ghent Fire Department. For 20 years, Jim was employed as a boiler operator by Boilermasters, Inc. in Greensboro, NC and for 12 years at Cintas in Strongsville. He and his wife were volunteers for the Lorain County Metro Parks at Sandy Ridge Reservation where he drove the tram and enjoyed bird watching, especially the eagles. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and was a Ham operator with the call letters “KE8SAF”. Jim is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dawn M. (nee Johns); children, Alicia (Mike) Sekerak, Erica (Jaymie) Bell, Stephanie (Shanelle) Bell, Kyle (Stephanie) Smith and Kaitlyn (Alex Hirschhaut) Bell; grandchildren, Vincent and Logan; siblings, Benny (Margaret) Boggess, Patricia (Albert) Casne, Nancy (Rich) Houston, Jerry (Linda) Bell and David Lilly and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Hazel Bell and nieces, Tara and Amanda and nephews, Jason and Alexander. Friends will be received Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lorain County Metropolitan Park District, 12882 Diagonal Road, LaGrange, OH 44050. There are no gallery images.
