James McLaughlin Obituary
James G. McLaughlin, 77, of Elyria, died July 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 18, 1942 in Elyria and was a 1960 graduate of Elyria High School. Jim was employed as a purchasing supervisor at Bendix Corporation, retiring in 1987. While his children were attending school, he and his wife enjoyed following their activities and were members of PTA. He was an active member of Jesus Christ Community Church. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna J. (nee Marks); children, Debbie (Scott) Dunlap, Amy (Bill) Newton, Melanie McLaughlin and Eric McLaughlin; and grandchildren, Catrina (Brandon), Courtney, Kara (Rob), Katy, Tyler, Emma, Alyssa, Savannah, Isabella and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ethel McLaughlin. Friends will be received Monday, August 3, 2020 from 11:00 am until the time of a 1:00 pm funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Gene Collings officiating. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 precautions, face coverings are required.
