James Guy FowlerJames Guy Fowler, Jr., 90, of Elyria, died, October 7, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. He was born April 6, 1927 in Fredericksburg, VA. For twenty years Jim served proudly in the US Army Air Corps and Air Force. He was stationed in Germany and participated in the Berlin Air Lift and also traveled to numerous countries including Korea, Philippines and Japan. He moved to Elyria in 1967 and was employed at Timm Springs Company for twenty two years retiring in 1989. His favorite pastime was spending summers on his property in West Virginia with his wife, Thelma. Other interests included music, reading, gardening and fishing.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty one years, Thelma; parents, James and Manda (nee: Wyatt) Fowler; sisters, Christine, Bessie, Mary Ellen, Hilda, Edith and LaVonne.He is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle Sunny. Friends will be received Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of an 11:00 AM service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Major Robert Sears of The Elyria Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
