James Watt Obituary
James W. Jim Watt, 73, of Elyria, died July 16, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, in the care of Mercy New Life Hospice following a brief illness.He was born August 4, 1941 in Elyria and was a 1959 graduate of Elyria High School. Jim was a journeyman electrician and was formerly employed as a mechanic with J.R. Dall Ford in Elyria, the former Donn Products in Westlake, Bendix Westinghouse and as an electrician with USS Kolbe Steel Plant, Lorain from where he retired. Jim was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Elyria, where he served as an usher and trustee, played softball and bowled and volunteered with church maintenance. He enjoyed fishing, golf, following The Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and Browns, and in his younger years, participated in quarter mile drag racing.Jim is survived by a son James H. (Anneliese) Watt of Terre Haute, IN; daughter Cyndi A. Watt of Elyria; grandson Jeffery J.J. Watt and a brother Theodore (Carol) Watt of Cleveland.He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Annabelle J. (nee Hanigan) in 2013 and parents Henry and Sally Watt.Friends will be received Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Friends will also be received Monday, July 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of an 11:00 a.m. service at St. John Lutheran Church, 1140 West River Rd., North, Elyria. Reverend James Herbolsheimer will officiate with burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
