Janis Stegman Obituary
Janis M. Stegman (nee Abbey), 73, of Bellevue passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 after a brief bout with acute leukemia. She was born March 14, 1947 in Elyria, the daughter of the late Frank and Dora (nee Hopkins) Abbey. Janis was a Midview High School graduate and had a long career as an insurance assistant with several local agencies. She enjoyed needlepoint, the public library, reading science fiction, all things Harry Potter, and talking about her grandchildren. Janis is survived by sons Scott (Michelle) Trumble of Centerburg, OH and David (Julie) Trumble of Bradford, PA; daughter Shelley (Rick) Kirkpatrick of Vienna, VA; beloved grandchildren Bryce (Alexandra), Becca (Will), Kyle and Ryan; sisters Ella (Don) Kocsis, Elaine Abbey, Pat Trombetta and Shelly (Dennis) Tanner; brother Frank (Carolyn) Abbey; and sister-in-law Nancy Stegman. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Stegman in 2017, whom she married July 6, 1974 at North Eaton U.C.C., and a sister Gretchen Abbey in 2011. Friends will be received Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the time of a 2:00 pm memorial service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
