Jeanette Buttle Obituary
Jeanette S. Buttle, 99, went to be with the Lord September 4, 2018, at O’Neill Healthcare North Ridgeville. She was born November 17, 1918 in Elyria, Ohio and lived here most of her life. She moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1992, returning in 2006 to live at The Abbewood. She graduated from Elyria High School and Oberlin School of Commerce and in later years was employed in the office of Drs. McDonald and Hayes in Elyria. She was a founding member of Church of the Open Door where she taught Sunday School. She and her husband enjoyed boating, motor homing and traveling with friends and family. She was a lifelong learner and was thrilled to get her first iPad at the age of 92. She also enjoyed reading and needlework and especially knitting hats for the troops. She was an avid sports fan; rarely missing a radio broadcast of the Cleveland Browns, the Indians and the Cavaliers. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will cherish their visits and phone calls with her. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook, her interest in others, and her signature laugh. Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Williams of Elyria, Jayne (Rick) Brekelbaum of Rogers, Arkansas; son, Rick (Susan) Buttle of Canfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Reverend Randy (Judi) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona, Reverend Dr. Robb (Sarah) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona, John (Liz) Brekelbaum of Rockford, Illinois, Dr. Chad (Heidi) Brekelbaum of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Brad (Nicole) Brekelbaum of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Jonette (Kirk) Gourley of Keithville, Louisiana, Jodi (Dave) McClintock of Clarksville, Tennessee, Cory (Amy) Buttle of Sarasota, Florida, Emily (Dan) Sipe of Canfield, Ohio, and Ross (Rachel) Buttle of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and 27 great-grandchildren. Her husband of 72 years, Richard R. Buttle, Jr. died November 23, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jacquee Buttle; parents, Harriett and George Shrubsole; brother, Ralph Shrubsole; and sister, Grace Heidrich. The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at O’Neill Healthcare, Hospice, and The Abbewood for their care. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 11400 LaGrange Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
