Jeanne D. Meredith (nee: Dilgren), 88, of Elyria died June 28, 2014 at St. Mary of the Woods, Avon, Ohio. She was born December 2, 1925 in Oberlin, Ohio, was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School and attended Bowling Green State University. Jeanne was formerly employed at the Chronicle Telegram and Lorain County Board of Elections. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, loved all four/legged animals, bridge, travel and spending time with her family. Jeanne is survived by her husband of sixty eight years, Hubert W. Meredith; daughters, Cynthia (Jack) Martin, Ellen (Martin) Rosenblum; son, Jack (Beth) Meredith; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruth Dilgren; sisters, Rilla Jokela and June Crandall and a brother, Richard Dilgren.Friends will be received Thursday July 3, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of a 11:30 AM funeral service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Wayne Brass will officiate. Burial will Brookdale Cemetery. A special thank you by the family is given to Sue Goodell and the nurses of New Life Hospice and the staff at St. Mary of the Woods.
