Jeanne Shafer (nee Byrd), 76, of Vermilion, died November 28, 2021 at Mercy Health-Lorain Hospital. She was born June 12, 1945 in Cleveland and was formerly employed at Inservco Electronics in LaGrange. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo, dancing, crafts and spending time with family. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Shafer; sons, Doyle Wayne Matlock and Rick Wellner; daughters, Amanda Sheppard and Jamie Strader; step-children, Kelly (Mark) Jacko, Scott Shafer and Stephanie Shafer; sister, Sue Born; brother, Jerry Byrd; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carles and Evelyn Byrd; a brother, Carl Byrd and a sister, Shirley Schofield. Services will be private.
