Born in Indianapolis, attended John Herron Art Institute. Married to Bob Steinberger 51 years. Lived in Cleveland area, raised two children, Jay Steinberger (deceased) and Gayle Steinberger. Worked in CWRU depts. of Sociology and Family Medicine Research. After Bob’s death, married Dr. Jerome Berner and moved to Kendal at Oberlin. Together they traveled and attended many cultural events. Jeanne was a stylish beauty, gourmet cook, creative, witty, generous, keenly observant, and always curious about the world. She loved travel, art, music, nature, movies, cats, and flamboyant jewelry and shoes. She is deeply mourned by her husband of 23 years, her daughter Gayle, son-in-law Dennis Adams, and grandchildren Noah Adams, Zach Adams, and Rachel Dombrowski (nee Steinberger).
