Jeffrey G. Pfeiffer, 65, of Elyria, died Tuesday May 2, 2023 at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Medina after a long battle with brain cancer. He was born June 27, 1957 in Fairview Park, Ohio and was a 1975 graduate of Avon Lake High School. For 29 years, Jeff was employed at the Elyria Chronicle Telegram, retiring in June 2022 as national advertising manager. He had been involved in Little League East baseball and enjoyed attending his sons’ baseball and football games and spending time with family. Other interests included golf and travel and was a fan of all sports, especially the Cleveland Browns. Jeff loved dogs and always had one as a part of his family. Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet (nee Klein); sons, Timothy (Candice) Pfeiffer of Lakeland, FL and Michael (Carly Adkins) Pfeiffer of Cleveland; daughter, Karilyn (Brandon Toth) Pfeiffer; brother, Jeremiah (Amy) Pfeiffer of Orlando, FL; and sisters, Karen (Scott) Van Dyke and Kim (Greg) Hagerman, both of GA. He was preceded in death by parents, Jeremiah and Aileen Pfeiffer. Jeff’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the support and care they provided for him and family. Friends will be received Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the time of a 3:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Kathryn Ketchum will officiate.
