Jeffrey L. Jeff Stump, 59, of Elyria, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his home.He was born January 19, 1954 in New London, Ohio and was a 1972 graduate of Midview High School.Jeff was employed at Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for 40 years, retiring in March 2013.At the age of 5, he began spending time at his fathers gas station and enjoyed working on cars throughout his life. Other interests included golf, NASCAR, spending time with his family, his grandkids and his pet dog Sonny.Jeff is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sheri A. (nee Richards); sons Jeffrey (Corinna) Diederich of LaGrange and John D. (Stacie) Stump of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Logan Schrader, Malayna Stump and Kyle and Karissa Diederich; parents Dennis L. and Jane G. Stump of Wellington; sisters Denise J. (Roger) Johnson of Elyria and Maria L. (William) Fox of Baltimore, OH and four nieces.He was preceded in death by a brother John Ira Stump and a sister Julia Ann Stump.Family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4p.m. until the time of a 7:00 p.m. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MetroHealth Foundation Brain Injury Program, 2500 MetroHealth Towers Drive Cleveland, OH 44109.For online condolences, visit www.dickenfuneralhome.com
