Jerome Thomas Wilt's Obituary
Jerome T. “Jerry” Wilt, 78, of Grafton, died Monday July 27, 2026 at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1947 in Cleveland and was a 1966 graduate of Cathedral Latin High School. From 1968-1971, Jerry served with the US Army. For 43 years, he had been employed as a meat cutter for Giant Eagle, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Jerry was an avid reader and loved spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris J. “Dottie” (nee Balch); daughters, Kari Kempema of Grandville, MI, Kristen (Paul) Conner of Olmsted Township, Melanie (Dean) Phillips of Wellington and Cindy (Christopher Ausse) Wilt of Wellington; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Chidlaw and Sharon Hach and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Barbara Wilt.
A graveside service will be Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:15 am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville. Please arrive by 11:00 am.
