Jessie Everitt Obituary
Jessie Ann Everitt (nee Stiltner) 83, of Elyria passed away March 7, 2017 at the home of her daughter following a four year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born February 13, 1934 in McAndrews, Kentucky and was a 1952 graduate of Phelps High School. Jessie studied accounting and worked as a bookkeeper. As in everything she did, her books were in perfect order and always balanced to the penny. She was formerly employed by Fixtures by Loren, Ames Company, Lake Erie Electric, and the Animal Protective League. She was a member of LaPorte United Methodist Church and was active in Ladies Bible Study. Jessie was a beautiful seamstress and will be remembered through the many gifts she created for friends and family, including ‘Power Rangers’ Halloween costumes, dresses with a matching piece for a favorite doll and beautiful Christmas tree skirts. Affectionately known as “Jetti-Ann” (her favorite nickname), she enjoyed traveling and while growing up, saw Kentucky Bluegrass; Badlands National Park while the wind swept her hair from the back of a motorcycle; and the crystal clear water of the northern Great Lakes, when sailing the shores of Canada. At home, in the spring and summer, she enjoyed building habitats for her favorite bird, the bluebird, so much so, that they could be seen fluttering about her property. She also loved following the Cleveland Indians, her favorite team, and when at home, the game would be on radio or television. Jessie had a beautiful smile and big green eyes. Most of all, Jessie loved her family and was a friend to all. Jessie is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ronald) Myers; grandchildren, Lindsay and Andrew Myers; sisters, Grace (Bill) Warner, and Rowena (Larry) Gendics. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt”, Keith Norman, Todd Norman, Robin Samples, Melissa Norman, Melanie Janda, Sherri Warner, Billy Warner, Allen Clevenger, and Jason Gendics. She was preceded in death by parents, Roland and Martha (nee Blackburn) Stiltner; brother, Charlie Stiltner, and former husband, A.J. “Woody” Varney.
