Joan Louise Vintle, 76, of Elyria, died June 28, 2017 at O’Neill Healthcare Bay Village under the care of Cleveland Clinic Hospice. She was born June 11, 1941 in Canonsburg, PA and was a 1959 graduate of Canonsburg High School. She graduated in 1962 from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and received a BSN degree from Case Western Reserve, Cleveland, OH. She also received a Masters degree in Education from Kent State University.Joan worked as head nurse at the Cleveland Clinic and then for 31 years, she was employed at Lorain County Community College as a Health Counselor and Business Counselor, retiring in 1999. Joan is survived by a brother, Martin Vintle of Canonsburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edward S. Brown, Jr. in 2016; a brother Anthony Vintle and parents, Anthony and Louise Vintle. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton, OH. Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria, OH.
