John F. Shibley, 67, of Elyria, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at EMH Healthcare.He was born September 8, 1945 in Norwalk, Ohio, was a graduate of Lorain High School and had served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He had lived most of his life in Elyria.John worked for U.S.S. Kobe Steel in Lorain for over 20 years; the former Thew Shovel Company in Elyria and later, was a self-employed carpenter. His hobbies included cooking, fishing and spending time with his family.John is survived by daughters Samantha Weir and Amanda Shibley, both of Elyria; 4 grandchildren; brother Leon Shibley of Elyria and a sister Judy Mangen of California.He was preceded in death by his parents Leon F. and Mary (nee Wahl) Shibley and a sister Marilyn Liszak.A memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria with Reverend Bret S.
