John M. Sloan, 81, of Elyria, died December 16, 2020 in his home. He was born January 18, 1939 in Tonawanda, NY and was a US Navy veteran. John had formerly been employed at Kalt Manufacturing, and was a security guard at Moen Inc. and for 15 years at Wesleyan Village, retiring in 2015. John was a Webelos leader with Pack 139, an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 139 and Scout Master with Troop 127. He enjoyed painting and playing Bingo. He volunteered at Beyond the Walls Church were he held with the Food Bank. John is survived by his son, Carl (Amanda) Sloan; grandson, Alex Sloan and his best friend, Mark Riesche all of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Rhonda in 2015; and his parents, Charles and Helen Sloan.
