John Osborne Obituary
John N. Osborne, 89, of Carlisle Township, passed away at home February 17, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born September 9, 1931 in Greenup County, Kentucky, moving to Elyria in 1952. From 1952-1954, John served as a corporal in Korea with the US Army. He was employed for 40 years as a foreman at Kasper Foundry, Elyria, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed participating in turkey shoots, hunting, spending time with his family and each year would plant a garden. John is survived by son, John “Pete” (Rose) Osborne of Carlisle Township; daughters, Carol Ebbeson and Debra Carr, both of South Amherst; grandchildren, Edward and James Osborne, Rodney Lane and Carrie Toledo and Leann and Ashley Carr; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ray and Eugene Osborne; and sisters, Bessie Getter and Connie Howertown. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Doris in 2020; son, Danny Osborne in 2005; sister, Pauline Burton and parents, Alvin and Ruth Osborne. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 10:30 am until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Jim Deulley officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria where Elyria Amvets #32 Honor Guard will present military honors.
