John Jacklitch Obituary
John R. Jacklitch, 69, of Elyria, died December 26, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice, Lorain. He was born April 1, 1946 in Bay Village, OH. John was a 1964 graduate of Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA and received an associate degree from Lorain County Community College. During the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Since 1984, he has been employed as a digital systems instructor for Rockwell Automation. He is a member of Community United Methodist Church, Elyria. John and his wife enjoyed traveling, including trips to Alaska to visit his sister, roller-skating and attending live theater. John is survived by his wife Lily; stepdaughter, Linda Bartnyska; stepson, Steven (Debbie) Bartniski; grandchildren Michael Dunn and Lauren and Ashley Bartniski; sister Marjorie (Ron) Illingworth; brothers James and Charles Jacklitch and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marjorie Jacklitch; first wife, Lillian Jacklitch and a stepdaughter, Susan Gildersleeve. A memorial service will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 680 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria with Reverend Kevin Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Video Fund #410, C/O Community United Methodist Church or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5700 Brecksville Rd., Independence, OH 44131.
