John SarnovskyJohn Sarnovsky, 90, of Elyria, died, October 14, 2017. He was born July 14, 1927 in Elyria to Teresa (nee: Gacy) and Joseph Sarnovsky. He served in the US Army stationed at Camp Hawn, California. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Elyria where he has been a life long resident. He married and was the father of four children. John’s career was in residential and commercial real estate. He was the founder of Charter Realty Company and was past president of the Home Builders Association and The Board of Realtors. Among his varied interests he enjoyed the hobby of searching for Indian and Mexican artifacts. He was a member and past president of The Ohio Archaeological Society. John is survived by a daughter, Linda Kaatz and a son, Craig A. Sarnovsky.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Gockel and a son, Dr. Michael Sarnovsky.In 1968 he married Judith Williams, a home economist with Elyria Columbia Gas at Broad Street Presbyterian Church in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio.Arrangements were in the care of Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elyria.
