Joseph C. Otten, 90, of Elyria went to join his wife and be with the Lord June 13, 2017. He was born January 31, 1927 in Elyria and served as an MP in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed in Japan. Joe was employed at General Motors in Elyria and then retired from the General Motors Parma Plant. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Elyria VFW # 1079, Elyria AmVets Post 32 and Elyria United Polish Club. He was an avid golfer, a former Lorain County Senior Champion and had achieved twelve holes- in- one. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing.Joe is survived by sons, Joe P. (Karen) Otten of Coral Springs, FL, Dennis (Cheryl) Otten of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Tim (Judy) Otten of Columbia Station, OH and Tegan (Kimberly) Otten of Clayton, NC; daughters, Sheila (John) Wilson of Elyria, Rita (Tym) Broadhead of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Ashley, Olivia, Shelby, Angelica and Victoria and a sister, Betty McCray of Melbourne, FL.He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty eight years, Rita, January 9, 2017; parents, Joseph and Mae Otten; sister, Patricia Roberts and a step-brother, Jack Stolzenburg.
