Joseph Brown Obituary
Joseph G. Brown, 41, of Cleveland, died April 16, 2023 in his home. He was born August 24, 1981 in Elyria and was a 2000 graduate of Elyria High School. He received bachelor’s degrees from Ohio University in Outdoor Education and also in Adventure Recreation. Joe was an accomplished cellist, had a love of the outdoors and could frequently be found camping, hiking and playing disc golf. He was an avid gardener who made his own hot sauces. Joe also loved his dogs, Zero and Izzy. Joe is survived by his parents, Brenda and Robin Brown of Elyria; fiancée, Sara Hertel of Cleveland; brother, Nicholas Brown of Lakewood and grandmother, Shirley Blaner of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph S. Blaner and paternal grandparents, Henry Ford Brown and Helen Brown Farrar. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 4:00 pm until the time of a 6:00 pm service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rescue Inn, North Olmsted at https://therescueinn.com, a foster-based rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need.
