Joseph P. DuBois, 71, of Elyria, died Monday April 22, 2013 at his home after a brief illness. He was born February 26, 1942 in Sandusky to Paul and Eleanor DuBois. He graduated from St. Marys High School in Sandusky and Bellarmine College in Kentucky. He served with the U.S. Navy as an operating room technician and had been employed as a social worker and in later life as a house painter. Joseph is survived by his wife, Janet (nee: Smalley); daughter, Chere DuBois; brother, Peter (Shirley) DuBois of Sandusky and sisters, Mary Singler of Sandusky and Ann (Ed) Pifher of New Washington.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stephen.Friends will be received Thursday April 25, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Friends will also be received Friday April 26, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the time of a 10:00 AM funeral mass at St. Marys Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Reverend Father Joseph Steinbauer will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sandusky.
