Judith "Judi" Ann Curtis' Obituary
Judith Curtis Obituary
Judith “Judi” Ann Curtis entered her forever home October 8, 2021. She passed peacefully with family by her side. Judi was born April 18, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert F. and Marnell J. (nee Ratchford) Dupont. Judi was a graduate of Fairmont West High School (Kettering) and Wright State University. She was a natural working with young children. Her artistic talents included free hand drawings, 'scribble' art, and crocheting. She was often called upon to crochet blankets for new-horns or special blankets for family members. Judi's height of 5'10" inspired her to start a giraffe collection. She had dozens of giraffes in a variety of styles, materials, and sizes. Her favorite was a Steiff giraffe- a gift from her late husband, Dave. She also collected nativity sets and Christmas trees. Both collections included unique designs and materials. In recent years, with her health declining, Judi never lost her sense of humor or her faith in God. She would say, "I don't know what will happen, but God does. God's in charge." Judi was a foster mom to a total of 5 children when she lived in Dayton. She was a Girl Scout, and later a troop leader. She spent a summer in Bruges, Belgium doing mission work. It was while doing mission work in the Cleveland area that she met her husband, Dave. Judi is survived by her niece, Michelle (nee Dupont) and husband, Mike Carr; nephews Jon Dupont and Brett Dupont; grandnephew Dominic Dupont; and sister-in-law Helen (Robert deceased) Dupont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Curtis (2001); a brother Robert Dupont, (March 2021); her parents, and maternal grandparents John and Marie (nee Haas) Ratchford. Per Judi's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. The family would like to thank the friends she made at Danbury Senior Living in North Ridgeville for their support as well as everyone from maintenance, nursing, and administrative staff at Danbury for their care. The family also thanks the entire team from Hospice of Western Reserve for their truly compassionate care. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192, or Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 360 Princeton, Elyria, OH 44035, College or Seminary Fund.
