Julie J. Hale's Obituary
Julie Hale Obituary
Julie J. Hale (nee Beaty), 92, of Elyria, passed away at home with her family by her side September 5, 2022 after a long illness. She was born July 10, 1930 in Jamestown, TN to Preston and Martha Beaty (nee Owen) joining her older brothers and sisters on the family farm. She moved to Ohio where she met her first husband, Willard Wells. After he passed away due to a work accident, she met and married Dallas “Bud” R. Hale. She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and friend. All her early childhood and adult life, Julie was a church-going, blue-grass loving, God-fearing woman who would sing as many times and as often as she could. Whenever she and her sisters would visit one another, someone always had a guitar handy and they would just sing their hearts out on the back porch, front porch, or any porch really! She was not afraid to belt out tunes and whenever we would travel to visit her home state of Tennessee, she would sing along to the only radio station allowed in the car: the bluegrass channel. She enjoyed her family so much, during the summers having everyone over for BBQ’s. She adored her grandkids as they were growing up and was giddy with joy as each new great-grandchild was brought to meet her. She loved babies! And, boy! Did they love her back! Wasn’t a baby that didn’t love their “Nanny”! Julie is survived by her children, Judy Flowers (Don, deceased), Brenda Childers (David), Willard “Duane” Wells (Joellyn) and Michael Hale; step-children Bobby Hale and Brenda Hale; grandchildren Stacy, Regina, Julie, Rebecca, Martha, David, Jason, Amanda and Michelle; great-grandchildren Cierra, Nathaniel, Madison, Alyssa, Jason, Brianna, Emily, Kristofer, Evalynn, David III, Lana, Lily, Layla, Ethan, Naomi, Raelynn, Skylar, Kiarah, Khloe, Kylie-Jo, Preston, Ethan and Madilynne; newest great-great-grandsons, Grayson and Carter; sister, Sarah Brown of Tennessee; a niece Nancy Milchin of Elyria and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Preston and Martha Beaty; four brothers; twelve sisters; first husband Willard Wells in 1960; son-in-law Donald Flowers in 1987 and second husband Dallas R. “Bud” Hale in 2007. The family would like to thank the doctors for their care, Western Reserve Hospice for their support and help through our mother’s transition. Friends will be received Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:30 am until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Gene Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.VisitationDicken Funeral Home and Cremation ServiceFriday, September 16, 2022 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM 323 Middle Ave.Elyria, OH 44035 ServiceDicken Funeral Home and Cremation ServiceFriday, September 16, 2022 12:00 PM 323 Middle Ave.Elyria, OH 44035 BurialBrookdale CemeteryFriday, September 16, 2022 41600 Oberlin Elyria RoadElyria, OH 44035
