Julie Smith Obituary
Julie Kay Smith, 56, of Elyria, died June 17, 2021 in her home. She was born November 14, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio, was a 1983 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst and attended University of Rio Grande. Julie was employed as an assembly tech at Ford Motor Company, Avon Lake, later transferring to the Chicago Stamping Plant, from where she retired in 2017. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Browns and also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Julie was an outstanding athlete. When she was 12, she was the first girl to make the All-Star Little League East boys baseball team in Elyria and as a freshman, played varsity basketball. She earned MVP honors in many of the sports in which she participated. Julie played volleyball and also played organized softball for the Angel League. Other interests included golfing and deep sea fishing. Julie is survived by her partner, Ginger M. Taylor; father, Eugene (JoAnn) Smith, Wellington Township; siblings, Deedee (Joseph) Brand, IN, Keeli (Donny) Deimling, KY, Shari Smith, FL, Scott Smith, KY and twin sister, Jonie Easterday, KY; step-brothers, Timothy Reed and Kevin Friend; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Marie Smith-Dundas in 1998. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 4:00 pm at 6594 Lincoln Road, Wakeman, Ohio.
