Karen A. Thompson (nee Wilhelm), 78, of Elyria, died April 17, 2022 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1943 in Crawford County, Bucyrus, Ohio and was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. She was a dental assistant for many years and attended Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin. She enjoyed riding horses for many years and raised several of her own. Karen is survived by her son, Christopher (Julie) Thompson of Wakeman; granddaughter, Danielle (Chris) Dorobish; brothers, Robert (Patricia-deceased), Thomas (Jan) and John “Jack” Wilhelm; former sister in law, Carrol Wilhelm; and two nieces; four nephews and several great nieces and nephews, whom she loved spending time with. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Joseph and Helen (nee Chapman) Wilhelm. Services will be held at a later date.
