Karen Smith Obituary
Karen E. Smith (nee Huber), 74, of Elyria, died March 1, 2020 at the home of her daughter under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve. She was born October 23, 1945 in Elyria. During her lifetime, Karen was a devout Christian, loved her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Karen is survived by her children, Julia E. Smith, Louis W. (Lisa) Smith and Susan M. (Timothy) Wamsley all of Elyria, Samuel G. (Jessica) Smith of Orwell and James A. (Katherine) Smith of Strongsville; grandchildren, Amanda S. Wamsley of Elyria and Samuel G. Smith, Jr. of Orwell; twin sister, Karla (Russell) Markel, Sr., sisters, Lucinda Partin, Martha Silva, Tracy Huber and Jennifer Tschaekofske; brothers, Glen Huber, Peter (Wilma), Paul (Nancy) and David Tschaekofske and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Louis W. “Bill” Smith in 2016; parents, Carl Huber Sr., and Joyce Tschaekofske; brothers, Robert Huber and Carl Huber, Jr. and a sister, Helen Shuman. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend Greg Lockridge officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
