Kathryn M. CarterKathryn M. Carter (nee: Mischka), 96, of Elyria, died peacefully, September 2, 2018. She was born March 6, 1922 in Elyria and was a 1939 graduate of Elyria High School. Kathryn received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Fenn College in 1944 and a degree as a registered nurse in 1947 from Fairview School of Nursing. She was then employed for twenty years as a pediatric nurse at Fairview Hospital. Kathryn lived all her life on Harrison Street in Elyria where family and friends gathered for the annual Memorial Day parade in addition to many holidays. She attended Washington Avenue Christian Church and enjoyed reading, working outside in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.Kathryn is survived by a daughter, Jane (Bob) Schuster of Elyria; son, David (Lori) Carter of Avon; grandchildren, Kenny (Angela) Schuster, Kevin (Katie) Schuster, Dana (Pete) Soldato and Brett, Kory and Kyle Carter; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
