Katie L. Bowles, 33, of Clearwater, Florida and formerly of Elyria, died February 10, 2014.She was born July 19, 1980 in Elyria and was a 1998 graduate of Elyria High School, where she played softball. She had also participated in ASA and NSA Softball. Katie had attended Central Florida College in Ocala, FL and was employed as a corrections officer at Hendry Prison in Immokalee, FL. She was a lover of animals and coached softball and T-ball.Katie is survived by her parents Russell L. and Linda A. (nee McDivitt) Bowles of Elyria; brother Russell (Tammy) Bowles of Brunswick; grandparents Bernard E. McDivitt of Elyria and Russell and Betty Bowles of Charleston, WV; aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Lou McDivitt January 19, 2013.Friends will be received Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a 1:30 p.m. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Reverend Josh Workman will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
