Kenneth E. Higgins, 74, of Elyria, died, January 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was born December 23, 1947 in Smithfield, WV. Ken was formerly employed by Smith and Jones, Elyria and for twenty years as night manager at Elyria Maintenance, retiring in 2014 from Dura Line Co. He was a sports fan and looked forward to watching the Indians and Browns on TV. He enjoyed being a member of a bowling league and dart league and visiting casinos with his wife. Ken is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Capo) to whom he would have been married fifty years, February 19, 2022. He is also survived by sons, Scott (Jennifer) Higgins of Elyria Township and twins, Brett and Brian Higgins of Elyria; grandchildren, Tyler Carrol, Samantha, Sarah and Melissa Higgins; great grandchildren, Christopher, Damian and Mansa. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sylvia Higgins; sisters, Cathy Aguilera and Juanita Stackhouse and brothers, Harold and Tim Higgins. Services for the family will be at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Kathryn Ketchum officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
