Kenneth M. Myers, 86, of Elyria, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Life Care Center of Elyria. He was born February 9, 1926 in Penfield Township and was a 1944 graduate of LaGrange High School. He served as a technical sergeant with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Ken was employed for 38 years at General Motors Fisher Body in Elyria, retiring as a supervisor of production in 1988. He was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church and Gideons International. Other interests included fishing, hunting, dancing, bowling and golf. Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma (nee: Daugherty); sons, Dr. Kenneth (Nancy) Myers of Woodville, Ohio and Tim (Karen) Myers of Elyria; grandchildren, Amy and Lindsey Myers and Timothy James, Kenneth and Jackie Myers. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Maud Myers; brothers, Harold, Carl and Howard and sisters, Mabel, Emma and Hazel.Friends will be received Tuesday June 12, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A service will be Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Glen Slusher officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria where Elyria VFW #1079 will present military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Childrens Development Center, 150 Erie Court, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
