K.-Peter Povlsen Obituary
K.-Peter Povlsen, 67, of Grafton Township, died suddenly February 14, 2015.He was born December 13, 1947 in Hof, Germany. At the age of 5 he came with his family to the United States and was a 1966 graduate of Bakersfield South High School, Bakersfield, CA. Pete served with the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1972 stationed in Korea and Germany. He received an associate degree from Lorain County Community College and attended Cleveland State University.Pete began his career of over 40 years with Windstream as a switchman and currently was an electrical engineer in translations for Windstream in Twinsburg. He was a member of Elyria Elks Lodge #465 and enjoyed riding his motorcycles, golf and reading.Pete is survived by his wife of 42 years, Suzanne M. (nee Bohn); sons Colin E. (Jennifer) Povlsen of Elyria and Kevin L. (Mia) Povlsen of Strongsville; grandchildren Zachary and Zoey Povlsen; mother Eva-Maria Povlsen; sister Elisabeth Jordan and a brother Michael (Karyle) Povlsen, all of Sacramento, CA.He was preceded in death by his father John Povlsen.Friends will be received Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A service will be Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second St., Elyria. Reverend Patrick Nicolino will officiate.
