Laura Laser Obituary
Laura L. Laser (nee Rothacher), 86, of Ashland and formerly of Elyria, died May 9, 2021 at Brethern Care Village in Ashland. She was born July 22, 1934 in Canton, Ohio where she was a 1942 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. In 1956 she graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY and received her Masters Degree in Social Science from Case Western Reserve School of Applied Social Science in 1964. Laura was employed as a social worker and supervisor at Lorain County Children Services from 1964 until retiring in 1988. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Elyria where she was a church session member, worked with the hot meals program and the finance team. She enjoyed cross stitch, playing the electric organ and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians. Laura is survived by nieces, Brenda (Chris) Boyd of Mansfield, Sherry Jackson of Marion, Iowa, Gayle (Rick) Root of Vancover, WA, Terri Brauchler of Mansfield and Joyce (David) Bower of Camas, WA; nephew, Bruce (Sue) Rothacher of Mansfield and grand, great and great-great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Donald G. in 1991; father, George Rothacher, mother, Ruth Carper and a brother, George Rothacher. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Rick Stein officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Covid-19 precautions will be observed, face masks are required.
