Leon A. Herron, Sr., 59, of Oberlin, died November 29, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.He was born June 17, 1952 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was formerly employed at Terrace Lakes Golf Coarse and Carlisle Golf Coarse. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, golf, hunting, sports and was a Cleveland Browns fan. He had also been a Little League coach in LaGrange and Oberlin.Leon is survived by his wife Jenny L. Herron; daughter Nicole L. Herron; son Leon A. Herron, Jr. and grandchildren Luke, Deonte and Diamond, all of Oberlin; mother Marie Shreve; sisters Vickie (Tony) Edgell, Dorothy (Charles) Burnett and Regina (Gary) Burnett, all of LaGrange; brother David (Sharon) Herron of Wellington and a half sister Tammy Herron of WV. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred L. Herron and a brother Robert L. Herron.Friends will be received Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. A funeral service will be Sunday December 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. James W. Deulley officiating. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township.
