Leonard Leininger Obituary
Leonard C. “Lenny” Leininger, 91, of Elyria, died April 22, 2020 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born November 15, 1928 in Cleveland and was a 1947 graduate of Grafton High School. Len was employed for several years at H.J. Hart Company in Elyria and then for thirty years at Columbia Gas of Ohio retiring as Operations Technician in 1986. He was a member of Elyria Senior Fellowship where he and his wife enjoyed numerous bus tours. Len was an avid fisherman. Other interests included golf, bowling, and playing all sports, especially basketball, baseball, fast pitch and slow pitch softball. Len is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Sheila M (nee Sand); daughters, Carol Jean Webb of North Ridgeville, Mary Jane Wilcox of Palm Bay, FL and JoAnne Lodge of Grafton; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Leonard C. in 1990. Friends will be received Monday, April 27, 2020 from 3:00 PM until the time of a 5:00 PM service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Pastor Troy Smith of Pilgrim United Church of Christ will officiate. Private burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
