Leroy Charley Leroy Charley, Sr., 67, of Elyria, died, May 6, 2020 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake. He was born July 18, 1952 in Elyria. He had been employed at Elyria Country Club, Ford Motor Company, Elyria Waste Water Treatment Plant and General Motors from where he retired. As a young man in school, he was an excellent wrestler and was undefeated. Some of his interests included music and watching western movies. Leroy is survived by sons, Leroy Charley, Jr., Marlon Charley, Joseph Charley, Elondale Shepherd, and Brandon Hendon; daughters, Bridgette Charley, Bianca (Jim) Greene, Nikki Charley, and Mykkayla Davis; 28 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Ivory (Euvenia) Charley and Brian (Maryetta) Charley; sisters, Janice Smith and Molly Charley; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Josephine Charley; brothers, Samuel Toggle and George and Stephen Charley; sisters, Katie Black, Marie Evans and Beverly Amerson; and a granddaughter Brooklyn Charley. Private services will be conducted for the family with John Crews officiating.
