Leroy Williams Obituary
Leroy Edwin Williams, 70, of Elyria, died August 3, 2020 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born November 4, 1949 in Elyria and was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High School. He attended the Culinary School at Lorain County JVS and was a cook at Alzado’s Restaurant in Elyria. Leroy had been employed as a maintenance engineer by ABC Management at South Park Apartments and Kensington Square, employed in the maintenance department at Elyria Maintenance, retiring from Nord Center. Leroy was known as a jack of all trades. He enjoyed cookouts with family, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and following the Cleveland Browns. Leroy is survived by wife of 48 years, Rosie (nee Little); sons, Duane Little, Marwan Little, Edwin Williams, Mykel Williams and Duane Williams; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Craig (Denise) Williams of Xenia, OH, and Larry (Regina) Balls; sisters, Florida Dickerson and Yvonne V. Williams (Joe A. Lynch); and a host of nieces of nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ruby Williams; brothers, John E. Williams and Henry “Hank-Bub” Williams, Jr.; and sisters, Charlene Curry, Audrey Williams-Porter and Patricia Ann Stiles. Friends will be received Monday, August 10, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12 noon at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A private service for the family will be at noon with Pastor Wilbert L. Wofford, Jr. officiating. Due to COVID-19 precautions, face coverings are required. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
