Lewis Cozart Obituary
Lewis S. Cozart, 83, of Lorain, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026. He was born April 29, 1942 in Athens, Ohio and was a 1960 graduate of Eastern High School, Reedsville, Ohio. For 35 years, he was employed at DAVEY Tree Company from where he retired as a supervisor. He took great pride in his professional skills as an arborist and enjoyed his work. Lewis was a member of Tower Baptist Church, Black River Game Club and Vermilion Fish & Game. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and yard sales.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sharon K. (nee Smith); children, Connie (Chris) Fassos of Lorain, Carolyn Cozart of Elyria, Lewis (Pamela) Cozart of Elyria and John (Tricia) Cozart of Lorain; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Santford” and Nellie Cozart; siblings Darrell, Varian and Santford Cozart, Nellie Gonzalez, Helen Dailey and two in infancy and granddaughter, Erin.
Friends will be received Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Dicken, Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Tower Baptist Church, 1313 Tower Blvd., Lorain with Reverend Bill Rowe and Reverend Royal Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
