Lewis Barbee Obituary
Lewis J. Barbee, 79, of Cleveland and formerly of Elyria, died February 11, 2017. He was born October 6, 1937 in Ripley, TN and was a 52 years resident of Elyria before moving to Cleveland. For 33 years, Lewis was employed at Fisher Body General Motors in Elyria and retired from Parma General Motors Plant in 1998. He was also an avid bowler. Lewis is survived by daughters Varis (Thomas) Frizzell of South Euclid and Michelle (Henry) Blackmon of Cleveland Heights; son, Kevelin Barbee of Elyria; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers Thomas (Margaret) Barbee and Larry (Charlie) Barbee, both of Oberlin, James Barbee, Edward (Darlene) Barbee and Harvey (Jane) Barbee, all of Elyria; sisters, Mary Horton of Elyria, Gladys Barbee and Bernice Williams, both of Elyria and Barbara (Fred) Harris of Rockford, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2001; son, John in 1990 and parents Harbert and Mary Barbee. Friends will be received Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria. A funeral service will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 9:30a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 427 16th Street Elyria. Reverend Dr. Carl P. Small will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Bedford Heights, OH.
