Lois Jean Bruce (nee Pierson), 86, of Carlisle Township, died May 25, 2017 in her home, surrounded by family. She was born October 19, 1930 in Fremont, OH and was a 1948 graduate of Elyria High School. For many years, Jean was employed in the cafeteria at East Carlisle and Grafton Elementary Schools. She enjoyed volunteer work for the local church as Sunday school teacher, working craft bazaars and a member of the women’s circle. She and her family traveled across the U.S. twice in a school bus that her husband modified into an R.V. Other interests included reading, cross stitch, cooking, quilting and traveling. Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold E. Bruce, Jr.; daughters Christine E. Bruce and Stephanie A. (Douglas) Parrack, all of Carlisle Township; grandsons Jason and Nathan (AJ) Parrack and Bruce and Brent Neumeyer; 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Marie Bruce in 1970; a brother, Lee Donald Pierson and parents, Donald and Mary Pierson. Services for her family will be private with burial in LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township.
