Lois M. Hill (nee: Bockhorst), 97, of Elyria, died April 1, 2016 at Mt. Alverna Village in Parma.She was born October 27, 1918 in Cleveland and was a 1936 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a 1940 graduate of Kent State University. For twenty seven years she taught elementary school in the West Geauga Public Schools, living most of her life in Chagrin Falls. In 1978, she retired with her husband to Little River, SC for twenty years, where she was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, North Myrtle Beach, SC before moving to Elyria in 2001. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and needlework.Lois is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ryba of Elyria; son, David (Denise) Hill of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Christine (Graig) Bansek , Charles (Barbara) Ryba, Samantha (John) Mahalina, Ashley (Ryan) Carr and Jacklyn Hill and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvel E. Hill in 1999; daughter, Linda Lee Applebaum and a son, John Hill.A memorial service will be Friday April 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Reverend Brian K. Wilbert officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, North Myrtle Beach, SC. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
