Lola Tonry KendallLola Tonry Kendall, 98, of Elyria, passed away July 11, 2018 after a full life. Born August 30, 1919 in Elyria to Joseph & Lola (nee: Hansen) Tonry. Lola was a 1937 graduate of Elyria High School. She worked producing munitions for General Industries during World War II, then in accounting and law offices in Elyria until her marriage to Joseph H. Kendall in 1949, after which she resided in Stroudsburg, PA. She was a homemaker for two decades, and a bookkeeper at East Stroudsburg State College (now ESU) from 1970 to 1984.Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Joseph Tonry Jr. and Eugene Tonry; and a sister, Dee Latimer. She is survived by sisters: Roberta Bryner, of Warrenton, MO; Audry Miller, Carol Lakocy, and “adopted” sister Phyllis Gales, all of Elyria.Lola is also survived by sons and their spouses: William R. Kendall and Dr. Annette Stemhagen of Blue Bell, PA; Ronald and Jennifer Kendall of Silver Spring, MD; and Gary Kendall and Rolanda RItzman of New Berlin, PA; special family friend, Diane Hales; also by beloved grandchildren, Carolyn, Austin, Preston and Blake Kendall, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.Lola was a lover of opera, classical music and animals, and was devoted to her family. A memorial service will be Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 6:00PM at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Her Interment will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, PA.
